PolyCast is a bi-weekly audio production in an ongoing effort to give the Civ community an interactive voice on game strategy; this is the sixth in its "Focus" series highlighting a particular Civ or Civ-related title, and the first since its second season. FIRST BOOK OF CANDLE`BRE SAGA RELEASED

Candle`Bre is a magical world with three books planned and a computer game under development. Book I, titled Darkness Falls and authored by project lead Chris "Velociryx" Hartpence is available for download as an illustrated PDF or in other formats. - Solver
FREECIV 2.1.4 RELEASED
(28 April 2008, 15:57 | Alt) The Freeciv designers have released a new version, Freeciv v2.1.4. An exhaustive list of changes is available on their page; some of the highlights include:
- Fixes for UTF-8 and local encoding mismatch
- Fix crash when trying to bribe a unit
- Fixed crash when unit is killed by the breaking of a treaty
- Theme had checkbox images reversed in some situations
- Fixed pathfinding crash when ferry is forced to leave path
- Fixed crash in citizen governor

`FREECIV` 2.1 IS HERE
(2 November 2007, 11:01 | Alt) After four betas the final version of FreeCiv 2.1.0 was released this week. This major update ships with many improvements compared to version 2.0.9, include new modding features, new graphics and graphics improvements, new city tab, city outlines, many new nations, surrender option, new border and diplomacy rules, UI improvements, improved AI and much, much more.

FOURTH `FREECIV` 2.1 SERIES BETA
(3 April 2007, 11:47 | Alt) The newest release of FreeCiv became available this week. In this fourth beta of v2.1.0, the following features are introduced:
- Allow air units to goto into unsafe terrain.
- Forbid military units from entering through the borders of another nation that you are at peace with.
- Fix many crashes with scenarios and custom rulesets.
- SDL client is more stable and usable.
- New high-res wonder and building icon set for the Amplio tileset.
- Now shipped with the overhead hexagonal `Hex2t` tileset.
